Social Service Worker, 1991
Professor and Program Co-ordinator, Social Service Worker program, Seneca College
For nearly 30 years, Kevin Kennedy has been an active advocate for homeless individuals and families in York Region. He has spent most of that time working and volunteering for Blue Door Shelters, which provides safe and supportive emergency housing and housing services and supports for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Kennedy started out as a field placement student with the agency before rising up the ranks to become chair of the organization. These days, in addition to his philanthropic initiatives, Kennedy is training the next generation of social services workers as a college professor.
