Celebrating Ontario’s outstanding college graduates

The 2016 Premier’s Awards gala took place on Monday, Nov. 21, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. There were 107 outstanding graduates nominated from Ontario’s 24 colleges.

Congratulations to this year’s winners in the following six categories:

  • Business: Ron Suter, executive vice-president at NBCUniversal and a graduate of Humber College.
  • Community Services: Kelly Crawford, vice-principal/education team lead at the Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute, a graduate of Canadore College.
  • Creative Arts and Design: Farzana Wahidy, a photojournalist who is a graduate of Loyalist College.
  • Health Sciences: Dianne Martin, the executive director of the Registered Practical Nurses of Ontario and a graduate of Georgian College.
  • Recent Graduate: Aylan Couchie, an Anishinaabe artist who is a graduate of Georgian College.
  • Technology: Chris Gower, the chief operating operator of PCL Construction’s buildings group and a graduate of Fanshawe College.
