Constable, Traffic Services, RCMP

At the age of 22, Francis Deschênes was accepted as cadet with the RCMP. During his 12-year career, he served across the country with traffic services, the RCMP Musical Ride, the VIP security team for former prime minister Stephen Harper, and the Special Tactical Operations Unit. Although his career ended tragically at the age of 35, both his presence and his loss had a real impact across the country. He was a respected RCMP officer known for his strength, courage, and commitment to the safety and well-being of all. His goal, in everything that he did, was to make a difference.
