Social Service Worker, 2018
Naomi Fong has been working toward health and a career since the former bombardier experienced an assault during her service with the Canadian Armed Forces that left her with PTSD. She found hope and community at college, where she studied in a social service worker program and graduated with honours. That helped give her the confidence to join the 2018 Invictus Games in Australia, where she won two bronze medals in women’s road cycling and was Team Canada’s flag-bearer at the opening ceremonies. Today she works on her self-care and healing while reaching out to help others.
