Head, Bus Maintenance and Shops, Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)
Allan Pritchard heads the vehicle maintenance department of North America’s third-largest transit system, helping to move one million Toronto commuters daily. Overseeing more than 800 licensed tradespersons, Pritchard is charged with ensuring everyone is extensively trained to work in the TTC’s sprawling maintenance and rebuild shops. He partnered with his alma mater college to address the training gap between the 310T apprenticeship curriculum and the unique competencies essential to transit fleet maintenance. As the first non-engineer in his position, Pritchard’s inclusive, modified apprenticeship program recruits and trains immensely talented technicians to keep the TTC’s fleet rolling.
