She has managed NASA’s largest “cleanroom” and took on the daunting task of ensuring all space-bound equipment included on shuttles and satellites were free from contamination. It’s a role that comes with pressure – the Hubble Telescope missions carried a $10-billion budget. It was her job to ensure it got to space and worked. She’s followed her dream from a college classroom to a career that’s helping rewrite astronomy books.
